Romans 3:23 ; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; The consequence of our human sin is eternal separation from God. God is the only source of life so eternal separation from Him results in eternal death.
However, God has made us a promise...the promise of salvation.
I know that today could be the beginning of a life you have never experienced before...and an excellent one at that ;-)
In the Bible, the word 'salvation' means being saved from eternal death and experience peace with God and live forever with Him.
A lot of people know the verse In John 3:16 which tells us that by us believing in Jesus Christ we can have salvation and eternal life.
'For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have life eternal - John 3:16 (NIV).
I'd like to break down this scripture to give you a better understanding of it's truth...
'For God so loved the world...'
The 'world' refers to every single person on earth. God really loves you.
'...that He gave His one and only Son...'
This verse shows just how much God loves us. So much so that He gave His only Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the price for our sins when He died for us on the cross. When Jesus died He said "It is finished" (John 19:30). He meant that He had done absolutely everything that was needed for our salvation.
